Stock market returns 0.46% WtD, as investors anticipate Q3 earnings

The stock market last week closed on a positive note as the All-Share Index and Market Capitalization appreciated by 0.46% to close at 47,569.04 points and N25.910 trillion respectively.

Year to date the market has returned 11.36%.

In the course of last week, an aggregate of 491.8 million units were traded in 14,350 deals, valued at N11.92 billion.

TOP 10 GAINERS

May & Baker led other gainers in the course of last week with 13.82% growth, closing at N4.2 from N3.69.

Neimeth, Coronation Insurance, Honeywell Flour and BUA Cement grew their share prices by 9.52%, 9.37%, 8.84% and 8.65% respectively.

Others among top 10 gainers include: Africa Prudential (8%), Sovereign Trust Insurance (7.69%), GTCO (5.29%), Access Holdings (5.26%) and Unity Bank (4.88%) respectively.

TOP 10 LOSERS

UACN led other price decliners last week as it shed 12.20% of its share price to close at N9 from N10.25.

FTN Cocoa, Global Spectrum Energy, Academy Press and Geregu Power shed their share prices by 10%, 9.82%, 9.66% and 9.02% respectively.

Others among top 10 price decliners include: RT Briscoe (-8.82%), University Press (-8.54%), Cutix (-7.41%), Cadbury (-6.94%) and LASACO (-6.67%) respectively.
