Market closes flat amidst price surge in 17 equities

Transactions on the floor of the Nigerian Exchange on Wednesday closed flat as the All Share Index closed at 51,953.41 points from the previous close of 51,952.99 points, hence there was no significant change.

The Market Capitalisation close at N28.300 trillion same as the previous close of N28.300 trillion.

An aggregate of 255 million units of shares were traded in 3,890 deals, valued at N1.79 billion.

The Market Breadth closed positive as 17 equities appreciated in their share prices against 11 equities that declined in their share prices.

Percentage Gainers

Sky Aviation led other gainers with 10.00% growth, closing at N5.50 from the previous close of N5.00.

ABC Transport and Berger Paints among other gainers also grew their share prices by 9.68% and 8.57% respectively.

Percentage Losers

Royal Exchange led other price decliners as it shed 10.00% of its share price to close at N0.54 from the previous close of N0.60.

Champion Breweries and CWG among other price decliners also shed their share prices by 9.84% and 7.53% respectively.

Volume Drivers

TRANSCORP traded about 117.5 million units of its shares in 237 deals, valued at N163 million.

Fidelity Bank traded about 38 million units of its shares in 169 deals valued at N200 million.

UBA traded about 19.8 million units of its shares in 236 deals, valued at N169 million.
