Market sheds N77bn as NGXASI closes lower by 0.25%

The equity market on Friday closed lower as the All Share Index was down by 0.25% to settle at 55,529.21 points from the previous close of 55,670.24 points.

The Market Capitalisation declined by 0.25% to close at N30.250 trillion from the previous close of N30.327 trillion, thereby shedding N77 billion.

An aggregate of 750.8 million units of shares were traded in 3,962 deals, valued at N2.66 billion.

The Market Breadth closed positive as 17 equities appreciated in their share prices against 16 equities that declined in their share prices.

Percentage Gainers

Academy Press led other gainers with 9.48% growth to close at N1.27 from the previous close of N1.16.

NEIMETH, Honeywell Flour and Flourmills of Nigeria among other gainers also grew their share prices by 8.97%, 7.83% and 4.69% respectively.

Percentage Losers

SEPLAT led other price decliners as it shed 9.43% of its share price to close at N1200.00 from the previous close of N1325.00.

OANDO and WAPIC among other price decliners also shed their share prices by 8.62% and 6.82% respectively.

Volume Drivers

Sterling Bank traded about 45.6 million units of its shares in 98 deals, valued at about N69 million.

Zenith Bank traded about 17 million units of its shares in 264 deals, valued at N461.8 million.
