Nigerian Bourse gains N624bn, returns 2.13% WtD

The Nigerian stock market closed higher last week, driven by appreciation in the prices of Airtel Africa, Dangote Cement and other 37 stocks. The All Share Index and Market capitalization rose by 2.13% to settle at 54,949.21 points and N29.934 trillion respectively.

An aggregate of 799.8 million units of shares were traded in 14,194 deals, valued at N29.35 billion.
The market breadth closed positive as 39 stocks gained against 22 stocks that declined in their share prices.

TOP 10 GAINERS


MRS led other gainers in the course of last week with 32.83% growth, closing at N30.55 from the previous close of N23.00.
JOHNHOLT, TRIPPLEG, CONOIL and CWG grew their share prices by 32.33%, 31.66%, 20.85% and 19.75% respectively.
Other top 10 gainers include: Living Trust Insurance 17.39%, BUA FOODS 15.59%, GEREGU 13.84%, Ikeja Hotel 12.15% and CARVETON 9.28% respectively.

TOP 10 LOSERS


Capital Hotel led other price decliners, shedding 9.42% of its share price to close at N2.50 from the previous close of N2.76.
VITAFOAM, NEIMETH, VERITAS KAPITA and Consolidated Hallmark Insurance shed 7.18%, 6.45%, 4.76% and 4.48% respectively.
Other price decliners include: CHAMS (3.45%), Regency Alliance (3.45%), JAPAUL GOLD (3.33%), CUTIX (2.38%) and WAPIC (2.22%) respectively.
