Stock market advances by 0.06%, investors gain N15bn

Transactions on the floor of the Nigerian Stock Market on Friday closed on a positive note as the All Share Index advanced by 0.06% to close at 43,968.75 points from the previous close of 43,942.82 points.

Investors gained N15 billion as the Market Capitalisation grew by 0.06% to close at N23.949 trillion from the previous close of N23.934 trillion.

An aggregate of 209.7 million units of shares were traded in 2,942 deals, valued at N2.166 billion.

Market Breadth

The market breadth closed positive as 16 equities appreciated in their share prices against 7 equities that declined in their share prices.

Percentage Gainers

Cornerstone Insurance led other gainers with 10% growth, closing at N0.44 from the previous close of N0.40.

Unity Bank, ETRANZACT and WAPIC among other gainers also grew their share prices by 9.62%, 9.37% and 9.09% respectively.

Percentage Losers

Flour Mills led other price decliners as it shed 9.90% of its share price to close at N27.30 from the previous close of N30.30.

PZ and Ecobank among other price decliners also shed their share prices by 7.03% and 5.00% respectively.

Volume Drivers

ACCESSCORP traded about 81 million units of its shares in 121 deals, valued at about N654.7 billion.

TRANSCORP traded 28 million units of its shares in 61 deals, valued at N30 million.

GTCO traded about 15.5 million units of its shares in 451 deals, valued at 273 million.
