Stock market closes flat with negative breadth

The Nigerian stock market on Tuesday closed flat amidst weight shedding in 22 stocks as the All Share Index closed at 55,603.94 points from the previous close of 55,605.57 points.  

The Market Capitalisation closed at N30.290 trillion, about 1 billion below its previous close on Monday.

An aggregate of 154 million units of shares were traded in 4,187 deals, valued at N2.48 billion.

The Market Breadth closed negative as 11 equities emerged as gainers against 22 equities that declined in their share prices.

Percentage Gainers

CAVERTON led other price gainers with 9.62% growth, closing at N1.14 from N1.04.

UAN, WAPIC and MANSARD among other gainers also grew their share prices by 7.60%, 5.00% and 4.50% respectively.

Percentage Losers

MRS led other price decliners as it sheds 10.00% of its share price to close at N31.05 from the previous close of N34.50.

NCR, MULTIVERSE and CUTIX among other price decliners also shed their share prices by 9.88%, 9.85% and 9.09% respectively.  

Volume Drivers

Zenith Bank traded about 13 million units of its shares in 359 deals, valued at N344.9 million.

UBA traded about 11 million units of its shares in 118 deals, valued at N95 million.

GTCO traded about 11.9 million units of its shares in 262 deals, valued at N311 million.
