Stock market declines by 0.31%

Thursday’s trading activities on the floor of the Nigerian stock market closed bearish as the All Share Index declined by 0.31% to close at 65,482.91 points from the previous close of 65,687.16 points.

The Market Capitalisation declined by 0.31% to close at N35.635 trillion from the previous close of N35.746 trillion, thereby shedding N111 billion.

An aggregate of 509 million units of shares were traded in 8,070 deals, valued at about N4.8 billion.

The Market Breadth closed negative as 14 equities emerged as gainers against 38 equities that declined in their share prices.

Percentage Gainers

LASACO led other gainers with 10.00% growth to close at N2.09 from the previous close of 1.90.

MULTIVERSE, Sky Aviation and RTBRISCOE among other gainers also grew their share prices by 9.96%, 9.91% and 6.00% respectively.

Percentage Losers

JAPAULGOLD led other price decliners as it shed 9.91% of its share price to close at N1.00 from the previous close of N1.11.

CADBURY and FTN Cocoa among other price decliners also shed their share prices by 9.80% and 9.40% respectively.

Volume Drivers

JAPAULGOLD traded about 115.7 million units of its shares in 471 deals, valued at N129.7 million.

UBA traded about 40 million units of its shares in 444 deals, valued at N596 million.

TRANSCORP traded about 37.5 million units of its shares in 352 deals, valued at N133 million.
