Stock market rises by 0.87% higher

The Nigerian stock market on Wednesday closed higher as the All Share Index rose by 0.87% to close at 108,609.51 points from the previous close of 107,670.98 points.

The Market Capitalisation appreciated by 0.75% to close at N67.684 trillion from the previous close of N67.179 trillion, thereby adding N505 billion.

An aggregate of 343.7 million units of shares were traded in 12,970 deals, valued at N8.6 billion.

The Market Breadth closed negative as 25 equities emerged as gainers against 28 equities that declined in their share prices.

Percentage Gainers

BUAFOOD led other gainers with 9.91% growth to close at N410.50 from the previous close of 373.50

RTBRISCOE, ETERNA OIL and Sunu Assurance among other gainers also grew their share prices by 6.91%, 6.25% and 6.13% respectively.

Percentage Losers

University Press led other price decliners as it shed 9.80% of its share price to close at N4.60 from the previous close of N5.10.

Integrated Energy Insurance and UNIONDICON among other price decliners also shed their share prices by 9.80% and 9.52% respectively.

Volume Drivers

ACCESSCORP traded about 65 million units of its shares in 1,417 deals, valued at N1.8 billion.

Fidelity Bank traded about 51 million units of its shares in 497 deals, valued at N962.5 million.

Zenith Bank traded about 22 million units of its shares in 619 deals, valued at N1.1 billion.
