Stock market rises further by 0.58%

Transactions on the floor of the Nigerian Exchange on Wednesday closed on a bullish as The All Share Index rose by 0.58% to close at 52,927.60 points from the previous close of 52,621.19 points.

The Market Capitalisation appreciated by 0.58% to close at N28.819 trillion from the previous close of N28.653 trillion, thereby gaining 166 billion.

An aggregate of 455 million units of shares were traded in 6,635 deals, valued at N7.8 billion.

The Market Breadth closed positive as 36 equities appreciated in their share prices against 17 equities that declined in their share prices.

Percentage Gainers

NESTLE led other gainers with 9.98% growth to close at N1,148.00 from the previous close of N1,043.80.

TRIPLEG, UACN and University Press among other gainers also grew their share prices by 9.88%, 9.76% and 9.76% respectively.

Percentage Losers

CHELLARAM led other price decliners as it shed 9.82% of its share price to close at N1.47 from the previous close of N1.63.

MCNICHOLS and WAPIC among other price decliners also shed their share prices by 9.59% and 8.70% respectively.

Volume Drivers

ACCESSCORP traded about 69 million units of its shares in 572 deals, valued at about N755.7 million.

UBA traded about 66 million units of its shares in 435 deals, valued at N577.8 million.

Zenith Bank traded about 37.5 million units of its shares in 520 deals, valued at about N1 billion.
