Market Declines as NGXASI Closes 0.23% Lower

Activities on the floor of Nigerian Stock Exchange on Wednesday declined further as the All-Share Index closed 0.23% lower to settle at 52,186.52 compared with 52,308.88 recorded on Tuesday.

The market capitalisation dropped by N66 billion or 0.23% to close at N28.142 trillion from N28.208 trillion recorded in the previous session.

Aggregate volume and value of traded stocks settled at 238 million units and N3.3 billion in 3,814 deals. 

Market Breadth

Market Breadth closed negative as 13 stocks gained against 22 stocks that declined in their share prices at the end of the day’s trading

Percentage Gainers

CWG and MULTIVERSE led the gainers chart with 9.88% growth each to close at N0.89 and N1.78 from the previous close of N0.81 and N1.62 respectively.

ACADEMY PRESS, RT BRISCOE, and THE INITIATES PLC also made it to the green table, gaining 9.68%, 9.09% and 9.09% respectively.

Percentage Losers

NAHCO tops the price decliners’ list, shedding 10.00% of its share price to close at N5.40 from N6.00.

Still on the red table are; FTN COCOA, Nigerian Breweries and Consolidated Hallmark Insurance Plc, shedding 8.57%, 6.13% and 5.71% respectively, ahead of other price decliners.

Volume Drivers

Nigerian Breweries traded about 30 million units of its shares in 136 deals, valued at about N1.5 billion.

UBA traded about 26.7 million units of its shares in 180 deals, valued at about N198 million.

ACCESSCORP traded about 22 million units of its shares in 195 deals, valued at about N199 million.
