Market gains N449bn as NGXASI rises by 1.31%

The Nigerian stock market on Tuesday closed higher as the All Share Index rose by 1.31% to settle at 63,766.72 points from the previous close of 62,943.35 points.

The Market Capitalisation was up by 1.31% to close at N34.722 trillion from the previous close of N34.273 trillion, thereby gaining N449 billion.

An aggregate of 868.8 million units of shares were traded in 8,970 deals, valued at N42.8 billion.

The Market Breadth closed positive as 50 equities appreciated in their share prices against 20 equities that declined in their share prices.

Percentage Gainers

NPF Microfinance, Nem Insurance and Honeywell Flour led other gainers with 10.00% growth each.

Eterna Oil, PZ and CHELLARAM among other gainers also grew their share prices by 9.92%, 9.88% and 9.84% respectively.

Percentage Losers

JAPAULGOLD led price decliners’ table as it shed 10.00% of its share price to close at N0.81 from the previous close of N0.90.

FTN Cocoa, COURTVILLE and Sovereign Trust Insurance among other price decliners also shed their share prices by 9.84%, 8.64% and 8.16% respectively.

Volume Drivers

FCMB traded about 153.9 million units of its shares in 420 deals, valued at about N956 million.

Dangote Cement traded about 104.9 million units of its shares in 487 deals, valued at N35.8 billion.

ACCESSCORP traded about 49.5 million units of its shares in 651 deals, valued at about N849 million.
