NGXASI closes lower, down by 0.35%

The Nigerian Exchange on Tuesday closed lower as the All Share Index declined by 0.35% to close at 52,756.62 points from the previous close of 52,944.09 points.

Investors lose N101 billion as the Market Capitalisation dropped by 0.35% to close at N28.442 trillion from the previous close of N28.543 trillion.

At the close of trade on Tuesday, an aggregate of 1.3 billion units of shares were traded in 6,449 deals, valued at N7.7 billion.

The Market Breadth closed negative as 21 equities emerged as gainers against 27 equities that declined in their share prices.

Percentage Gainers

PZ led other gainers with 9.96% growth, to close at N13.25 from the previous close of N12.05.

Berger Paints, Northern Nigeria Flour mills, MCNICHOLS and Abbey Building above other 16 gainers also grew their share prices by over 9.00%.

Percentage Losers

Flour Mills led other price decliners as it shed 9.20% of its share price to close at N37.00 from the previous close of N40.75

Glaxosmith and NPF Microfinance among other price decliners also shed their share prices by 8.39% and 8.02% respectively.

Volume Drivers

TRANSCORP traded about 140 million units of its share in 390 deals, valued at about N202 million.

GTCO traded 50 million units of its shares in 376 deals, valued at about N1.2 billion.

International Breweries traded about 21 million units of its shares in 192 deals, valued at N165 million.
