Stock market advances by 0.04%

The Nigerian stock market on Friday closed higher as the All Share Index advanced by 0.04% to settle at 49,682.15 points from the previous close of 49,661.87 points.

The Market Capitalisation was up by 0.04% to close at N26.797 trillion from the previous close of N26.786 trillion, thereby gaining N11 billion.

An aggregate of 193.5 million units of shares were traded in 3,307 deals, valued at N4.64 billion.

The Market Breadth closed positive as 17 equities appreciated in their share prices against 15 equities that declined in their share prices.

Percentage Gainers

JAPUALGOLD led other gainers with 9.68% growth to close at N0.34 from the previous close of N0.31.

Mutual Benefits, FCMB and Unity Bank among other gainers also grew their share prices by 7.14%, 5.96% and 5.00% respectively.

Percentage Losers

ELLAHLAKES led price decliners’ table as it shed 10.00% of its share price to close at N3.60 from the previous close of N4.00.

Vitafoam, NPF Microfinance Bank and CHAMS among other price decliners also shed their share prices by 9.78%, 9.09% and 7.41% respectively.

Volume Drivers

FBNH traded about 24.9 million units of its shares in 213 deals, valued at about N271 million.

ACCESSCORP traded about 18.9 million units of its shares in 175 deals, valued at N154.9 million.

Nem Insurance traded about 11 million units of its shares in 48 deals, valued at about N51 million.
