Stock market advances by 0.56%, investors gain N154bn

Transactions on the floor of the Nigerian Stock Market on Wednesday closed on a positive note as the All Share Index appreciated by 0.56% to close at 51,377.21 points from the previous close of 51,091.75 points.

Investors gained N154 billion as the Market Capitalisation grew by 0.56% to close at N27.698 trillion from the previous close of N27.544 trillion.

An aggregate of 229 million units of shares were traded in 4,536 deals, valued at N3.196 billion.

Market Breadth

The market breadth closed positive as 18 equities appreciated in their share prices against 16 equities that declined in their share prices.

Percentage Gainers

ELLAHLAKE led the gainers with 10.00% growth, closing at N4.40 from the previous close of N4.00.

PRESCO, FBNH and LIVESTOCK FEEDS among other gainers also grew their share prices above 9.00% each at the close of Wednesday’s session.

Percentage Losers

Northern Nigeria Flourmills led price decliners chart as it shed 9.91% of its share price to close at N9.55 from the previous close of N10.60.

JOHNHOLT and CWG among other price decliners also shed their share prices by 9.86% and 9.09% respectively.

Volume Drivers

OANDO traded about 34 million units of its shares in 364 deals, valued at about N185 million.

UBA traded 26 million units of its shares in 204 deals, valued at N194 million.

ACCESSCORP traded about 22 million units of its shares in 136 deals, valued at 216 million.
