Stock market closes bearish, declines by 0.05%

The Nigerian Stock Market on Tuesday closed on bearish note as The All Share Index declined by 0.05% to close at 49,163.81 points from the previous close of 49,189.32 points.

Investors lose N13 billion as the Market Capitalisation dropped by 0.05% to close at N26.519 trillion from the previous close of N26.532 trillion.

An aggregate of 139 million units were traded in 3,421 deals, valued at N1.6 billion.

The Market Breadth closed negative as 14 equities emerged as gainers against 17 that declined in their share prices.

Percentage Gainers

MULTIVERSE and NGXGROUP led the gainers with 10.00% growth each to close at N19.80 and N3.41 from the previous close of N18.00 and N3.10

Eterna Oil, COURTVILLE and Champion Breweries above other gainers also grew their share prices by over 8.00%.

Percentage Losers

May & Baker led other price decliners as it shed 9.79% of its share price to close at N3.50 from the previous close of N3.88

Regency Alliance, VITAFOAM and UNILEVER among other price decliners also shed their share prices by 7.69%, 6.98% and 5.38% respectively

Volume Drivers

TRANSCORP traded about 38 million units of its share in 113 deals, valued at N39 million.

Zenith Bank traded 35 million units of its shares in 385 deals, valued at about N710.8 million.

FCMB traded about 30 million units of its shares in 74 deals, valued at N105.6 million.
