Stock market declines by 0.12% as MTN sheds weight

Nigerian stock market on Thursday declined as MTN Nigerian and other 14 stocks shed weights

The All Share Index dropped by 0.12% to close at 50,014.60 points from the previous close of 50,075.47 points.

The Market Capitalisation declined by 0.12% to close at N26.976 trillion from the previous close of N27.009 trillion, thereby shedding N33 billion.

An aggregate of 133.6 million units of shares were traded in 4,292deals, valued at N2.4 billion.

The Market Breadth closed positive as 21 equities emerged as gainers against 15 equities that declined in their share prices.

Percentage Gainers

NAHCO led other gainers with 10.00% growth to close at N5.83 from the previous close of 5.30.

FCMB, Ikeja Hotel and MULTIVERSE among other gainers also grew their share prices by 9.84%, 9.43% and 9.22% respectively.

Percentage Losers

ABC Transport led other price decliners as it shed 6.67% of its share price to close at N0.28 from the previous close of N0.30.

Jaiz Bank and STANBIC IBTC among other price decliners also shed their share prices by 5.56% and 3.28% respectively.

Volume Drivers

UBA traded about 20 million units of its shares in 261 deals, valued at N143.6 million.

ACCESSCORP traded about 8 million units of its shares in 196 deals, valued at N72.7 million.

JAPAULGOLD traded about 7 million units of its shares in 60 deals, valued at N2.859 million.
