Stock market extends down trend by 0.35%

It was yet another bearish session on the floor of the Nigerian stock market on Friday as downtrend extended to further.

 The All Share Index dropped by 0.35% to close at 49,370.62 points from the previous close of 49,546.38 points.

The Market Capitalisation was down by 0.36% to close at N26.629 trillion from the previous close of N26.724 trillion, thereby shedding N95 billion.

An aggregate of 132 million units of shares were traded in 3,045 deals, valued at N1.6 billion.

The Market Breadth closed negative as 14 equities emerged as gainers against 15 equities that declined in their share prices.

Percentage Gainers

Jaiz Bankled other gainers with 5.95% growth to close at N0.89 from the previous close of 0.84.

AICCO, Academy Press and Dangote Sugar among other gainers also grew their share prices by 3.64%, 1.96% and 1.88% respectively.

Percentage Losers

University Press led other price decliners as it shed 9.95% of its share price to close at N1.72 from the previous close of N1.91.

IMG and JAPAULGOLD among other price decliners also shed their share prices by 9.70% and 9.38% respectively.

Volume Drivers

FBNH traded about 37.8 million units of its shares in 112 deals, valued at N418.7 million.

ACCESSCORP traded about 15 million units of its shares in 217 deals, valued at N127 million.

UBA traded about 9 million units of its shares in 143 deals, valued at N65 million.
