Bullish session continues as market closes by 0.95% higher

Bullish session continued on the floor of Nigerian stock market on Wednesday, extending the gains to five straight sessions as the All Share Index grew by 0.95% to close at 52,097.62 points from the previous close of 51,606.49 points.

The Market Capitalisation appreciated by 0.95% to close at N28.367 trillion from the previous close of N28.100 trillion, thereby adding N267 billion.

An aggregate of 6.48 billion units of shares were traded in 5,109 deals, valued at about N19.5 billion.

The Market Breadth closed positive as 40 equities emerged as gainers against 7 equities that declined in their share prices.

Percentage Gainers

Livestock Feeds and Academy Press led other gainers with 10.00% growth each to close at N1.10 and N1.43 from Tuesday’s close of N1.00 and N1.30 respectively.

Total, CADBURY and Honeywell Flour among other gainers also grew their share prices by 9.96%, 9.80% and 9.80% respectively.

Percentage Losers

Fidelity Bank led other price decliners as it shed 6.57% of its share price to close at N5.26 from the previous close of N5.63.

FIDSON and Linkage Assurance among other price decliners also shed their share prices by 5.56% and 4.35% respectively.

Volume Drivers

TRANSCORP traded about 1.1 billion units of its shares in just 181 deals, valued at N3.3 billion.

ACCEESSCORP traded about 60.5 million units of its shares in 736 deals, valued at N632 million.

UBA traded about 27.6 million units of its shares in 195 deals, valued at N219 million.
