Stock market closes bearish as NGXASI declined by 0.55%

The Nigerian Stock Exchange Market on Friday closed on bearish note as The All Share Index declined by 0.55% to close at 52,979.96 points from the previous close of 53,275.49 points.

Investors lose N159 billion as the Market Capitalisation dropped by 0.55% to close at N28.562 trillion from the previous close of N28.721 trillion.

At the close of trade on Friday, an aggregate of 436.6 million units were traded in 4,716 deals, valued at N3.2 billion.

The Market Breadth closed positive as 28 equities emerged as gainers while 25 equities declined in their share prices.

Percentage Gainers

NEIMETH led other gainers with 10.00% growth to close at N1.78 from the previous close of N1.60.

Conoil, MCNICHOLS, CUTIX, Nem Insurance and MRS above other gainers also grew their share prices by over 9.00%.

Percentage Losers

LEARNAFRICA led other price decliners as it shed 10.00% of its share price to close at N2.25 from the previous close of N2.50

Global Spectrum Energy Services Plc and Academy Press among other price decliners also shed their share prices by 9.79% and 9.56% respectively

Volume Drivers

Jaiz Bank traded about 142 million units of its share in 130 deals, valued at N126.869 million.

TRANSCORP traded 21 million units of its shares in 166 deals, valued at about N27.833 million.

UBA traded about 11 million units of its shares in 167 deals, valued at N87.99 million.
