Market grows further as NGXASI closes higher by 1.90%

Activities on the floor of Nigerian Stock Exchange on Monday grew further as the All-Share Index closed 1.90% higher to settle at 51,902.48 compared with 50,935.03 recorded last Friday.

The market capitalisation rose by N521 billion or 1.90% to close at N27.981 trillion from N27.460 trillion recorded in the last session.

Aggregate volume and value of traded stocks settled at 337.6 million units and N5.55 billion in 7,684 deals. 

Market Breadth

Market Breadth closed positive as 37 stocks gained against 21 stocks that declined in their share prices at the end of the day’s trading

Percentage Gainers

Nigerian Breweries led the gainers chart with 10.00% growth to close at N77.00 from the previous close of N70.00.

CADBURY, Royal Exchange, and Champion Breweries also made it to the green table, gaining 9.96%, 9.90% and 9.88% respectively.

Percentage Losers

Transcorp Hotel tops the price decliners’ list, shedding 10.00% of its share price to close at N4.05 from N4.50.

Still on the red table are; GUINNESS, MULTIVERSE and WAPIC, shedding 9.59%, 9.09% and 6.67% respectively, ahead of other price decliners.

Volume Drivers

TRANSCORP traded about 37.756 million units of its shares in 292 deals, valued at about N45 million.

GTCO traded about 24.76 million units of its shares in 521 deals, valued at about N580.6 million.

Zenith Bank traded about 21 million units of its shares in 396 deals, valued at about N521.7 million.
